"And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized wash your sins away, calling on his name."
Acts 22:16 | NIV

Baptism is the Next Step.

Baptism is an important step of obedience in the life of a believer. Getting baptized is not the source of our salvation, but it’s the public declaration of our commitment to follow Jesus and live in alignment with His word. Baptism symbolizes the forgiveness of our sins and our new life in Christ. It’s something to be celebrated and a special moment in a believer’s walk with Christ, marking a new chapter in their faith journey.

Jesus said, “Go then to all people everywhere and make them my disciples, baptize
them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit
, and teach them to obey
everything I have commanded you.” Matt. 28:19-20

For believers in Jesus, baptism is an act of obedience and a way of following His example. In Matthew 3:16, we see Jesus baptized before beginning His public ministry. In doing so, He set the model for all who would follow Him. When we are baptized, we respond in obedience to God’s Word and to Jesus’ command to make disciples through baptism (Matthew 28:19).

Baptism also powerfully symbolizes what Christ has done for us. Just as Jesus died, was buried, and rose again, baptism represents leaving behind our old way of life and stepping into new life in Him (Romans 6:4).

Simply put: if you have repented and accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, then yes—baptism is your next step.
