Missions

The Missions Team serves the body by assisting the church to manage all Missions related issues. The Team coordinates interactions and support between Harvest and its partner missionaries and coordinates activities at Harvest to keep Missions at the forefront of the hearts and minds of the people. Harvest’s missional world view begins in our own community and grows to the uttermost ends of the earth reaching every tongue, tribe and nation. You will see the Hand of God working through the Harvest Food Closet and local outreaches designed to meet the physical and spiritual needs of our neighbors (both inside the body and outside in the community); our monthly Convalescent Outreach; the Annual “De Mayo Fiesta” fundraiser and missions focus; missions small group; Missions Mosaic events that provide a informational meeting featuring a particular issue, group or missionary; and, the annual Missions Film Festival Weekend, featuring full length missional films to captivate the heart and edify the body regarding the role of missions in a changing world supporting 32 missionaries/world-wide ministries encouraging and assisting short-term domestic and foreign missions trips.

Advent Conspiracy

It’s our desire to help those in the world who do not have safe water to drink. Advent Conspiracy is a program we use to allow us to fund the construction of water wells in Uganda Africa. This is accomplished by channeling money that we normally spend on Christmas gifts for each other and use that money for digging water wells. Each Christmas Eve at our Christmas Eve service we take a special offering for this purpose. Any who would like to give water to the poor in this way are welcome to participate. By redirecting money that would normally be spent on our own gifts to others, we have been able to raise funds to construct 12 water wells in Uganda. A team from HCC will be traveling to Uganda to help install more water wells to give fresh water to hundreds of people in need.

Community Food Closet

We have been blessed with people at HCC who have a heart to serve groceries to those struggling in the community under these difficult economic times. Our food bank is open here at HCC to the church and the community every Tuesday afternoon distributing bags of groceries provided to us from the Placer County Food Bank. In addition we distribute food provided to us from the USDA for those who meet their income qualifications. Many wonderful friendships have been created in the process as we follow the words of our Lord to comfort the hurting and to help feed the poor.
