Stone by Stone is Harvest’s year-round arts program design for adults and teens. Every third Saturday, we host a monthly artist’s workshop which welcomes and gathers artists throughout the greater Sacramento region. At this monthly event, all participating artists gather for a plenary session which addresses how to connect their creative gifts with God’s redemptive purposes. After the plenary session, artists break into workshops that are designed to help build their skills and grow in their gifting. Workshops might include a writers group, a fine arts group, a dance group, a technical art’s group, a performing arts group, a musicianship group and/or a worship group.
Along with the monthly Stone By Stone Workshop, we also host and offer the following:
Artbeat – An annual, noncompetitive variety show that showcases rising Christian artists in Northern California. Auditions and entry applications start every December. Arbeat takes place in March.
The Message – An opportunity to join one of Harvest’s Art Groups which contributes to Sunday worship services, special holiday services and illustrated sermons.
Springfest – An annual stage performance written, produced and performed by local artists. Audition times and dates are communicated at monthly Stone By Stone Workshops. The Spring performance typically takes place after Easter.
The Missional Artist – An ongoing chance to take the arts to the streets, urban centers, local festivals and /or missions trips in order to communicate the love and message of Jesus. Trips vary throughout the year.
