What Makes Us Unique?

Creative Arts

Most churches embrace the arts in some capacity, however, our desire is to incorporate every facet of the arts in the church which includes, dance, poetry, songwriting, painting, media, drama, sculpture, set design, space design, computer graphics and music. Our vision is to build services and ministries upon creative art’s expressions. Ultimately, we believe the Lord has called us to establish a Fine Arts Academy. Currently our campus houses a Creative Room/Dance Studio and the Creative Arts CORE Leadership team offers opportunities in Dance (multiple styles), Drama, Artbeat, Media, Music, Worship Band, Set Design, Art’s Missions trips, fine arts training and development.

Community Outreach

We are fully aware that America’s spiritual landscape has changed. The days of a church being central to a town are behind us. While church bells may sound nice, they no longer call the people to gather for worship. What is more, people’s opinions about churches have drastically changed over the past decade. Deep within, however, we know how much God loves people! Harvest’s desire is to spread the word and let the people of our city experience God’s love. This is why we send out a team to the community. Several times throughout the year we distribute conduct apartment complex outreaches to give away free groceries, provide haircuts, repair bicycles, put on kids activities, barbecue, and a provide prayer for the people. Every Sunday morning we simply give away baked bread and let people know we would love to serve them or pray with them, should they desire. It’s is amazing to see how many friendships we have built and how people are receptive to the love of God. Our Sunday outreaches are simple…our mission is to take Christ’s church to our neighborhoods.

Prayer Ministries

Every church would agree upon the importance of prayer. What makes us unique, however, is how we incorporate prayer into our Sunday services and outreaches. During our Sunday services, we give an opportunity for people to pray with elders during the worship time. Our heart is that no one would leave our service carrying a pain or problem. We believe God is present to meet our needs provide loving resources. In fact, He delights in this! We also incorporate prayer in our Apartment Outreaches, and weekly during our Intercessory prayer meetings on Monday nights.

Family Life Events

All churches cater to families in some capacity. What makes us unique is that we recognize that true family is the family of God. So…when it comes to family celebrations we say the bigger the better. We enjoy gathering the entire family together. That’s why we love it when men, women, singles, married, young and old assemble for annual, all church Family Life Events which include the Memorial Day Picnic at Kaseberg Park, Harvest Family Camp & Baptism weekend at Rollins Lake, the Feast of Thanksgiving at a local community hall, and our outdoor Fall Harvest Festival in the church parking lot.

Harvest Food Closet

Jesus has tremendous compassion for people, especially those who are in need. One of the unique ways we love to extend God’s love and compassion to people within our church and within our city is through our Food closet. Every Tuesday, between 4:30pm and 5:30pm people can pick up groceries & household supplies for their family or another family in our community. In this tough economy, we love to extend a message of hope though a very basic need.
